Planning consent for a new cultural venue in Ealing Broadway

We are pleased to announce that our proposals to repurpose the former LA Confidential and Karma nightclub and provide a new cultural venue for Ealing Broadway have been approved by LB Ealing in March 2021.

As you may already be aware, we have been working with Really Local Group, an organisation that creates and restores cultural infrastructure through the renewal of the UK’s high streets, on plans to create a new cultural venue in Ealing Town Centre.

An application for the site of the former Karma nightclub on the High Street was submitted to Ealing Council in December 2020 and has recently been granted consent.

This new destination would comprise:

A 3 or 4 screen cinema

Live music & comedy programme

Community spaces

Coffee shop / bar

‘Pop up’ stalls for local food and products

Former entrance to Karma nightclub

New proposed ground floor entrance on the High Street

In addition, Really Local Group is planning the creation of part mezzanine level and new entrance on the High Street.

Really Local Group controls its own programming, allowing for a local focus at each venue. It also recruits directly from the community, meaning that it will create new job opportunities within The Broadway. More information about their work with communities and their vision for the future of the UK’s high streets and the key role played by cultural infrastructure can be found on their website.

More details regarding the planning application itself are available on Ealing’s Planning Portal using the reference number: 205282FUL. You can also write directly to the Ealing Central team and request access to the planning documents.
