Broadway Connection

We are at the very early stages of considering how to improve 10-40 The Broadway, an important part of Ealing Town Centre. Given its key positioning between Ealing Broadway Station and the Broadway Shopping Centre we are referring to this site as ‘The Broadway Connection’.

We will be hosting a series of public exhibitions at Unit 10, The Mall, Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre (in between Robert Dyas and M&S).

These exhibitions are open to anyone to drop in at any time to view our latest plans for the and speak to members of the project team:

  • Thursday 3 March, 4pm-8pm
  • Saturday 5 March, 10am-2pm
  • Tuesday 8 March, 4pm-8pm

We will also be hosting an online public webinar where the team will present the scheme on:

  • Wednesday 9 March, 6.30pm-7.30pm

The plans presented will also be added to this website for anyone unable to attend from 3 March.

Site background

9-42 The Broadway was subject to a planning application made in 2015 for a mixed-use residential led scheme brought forward by Benson Elliot and Londonewcastle. This was set to deliver a series of new buildings ranging from 2 storeys to 18 storeys and comprising c.190 new homes, ground floor retail, a new bar or nightclub to replace the Ealing Club, as well as a new access route from Ealing Broadway Station to the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.

British Land acquired the site in 2017, but believe that the previous proposals do not reflect what is needed in the area. Instead, our vision for this site is focused on creating new office space, improving the retail offer and potentially providing new cultural facilities, as well as providing a new link through the town centre. We would like this to continue being an integral part of the town centre, full of activity and reflecting the true spirit of Ealing, with an improved offer of sustainable retail, local independent businesses and curated spaces. Not least, we see the potential for this site to deliver high-quality office space that is currently needed and missing locally.

We have therefore appointed world class architectural practice, Stanton Williams, to lead on bringing forward fresh proposals and we will be sharing our initial designs with you very soon.
